Kids are an important part of the family at Trinity. Perhaps the most important thing we offer is a loving environment where they are accepted and cared for, even when they're not being "perfect little angels." We think that showing them love is an important part of teaching them about God's love. To that end, we have adapted worship to include children.
Children's Activity PacketsWhen kids first enter the church , they can pick up a clipboard that has puzzles, pictures to color and a bag of crayons. Be sure to grab one if you have a young child with you. Kids' InstrumentsChildren in both the sanctuary and the Trinity Cafe are invited to come forward and play rhythm instruments or dance with streamers during the faster songs in our "praise set" (a group of contemporary songs early in both worship services). The kids love this, and they get to help lead the congregation in worship! Kids' MessageBeing in worship is good for kids, and it helps if there's something addressed specifically to their level. In the Kids' Message, that's what children get. They get an easy-to-understand message that relates to that day's scripture in a format that works for them. They also see how much the church loves them as worship leaders focus on them for a few minutes. Communion/The Lord's SupperOnce a month we celebrate the Lord's Supper (also known as communion or the Eucharist). The children are invited to return form their classes and rejoin their families so that families may make the best decision about whether children should participate. Generally, when children are old enough to understand what sharing the bread and grape juice means, they are ready to participate.
